History: St. Columbans Foreign Mission Society was founded in Ireland, 1916-1920, and its members self-identify with the post-nominal initials, "S.S.C.". The Generalate administers the United States Region (St. Columbans, Nebraska), which in turn, administered Catholic missions among Native American in Alaska:
