D2L (Desire2Learn) — also known as Brightspace — is a web-based tool to support online education. Each course at Marquette has its own D2L course site. Students use D2L for interactive communication, secure submission of assignments to instructors, and online quizzes.

Troubleshooting
- Learn about special characters and D2L
- Be sure to login with your Marquette username — and not your Marquette email address.
- Students: Not seeing your class in D2L? After adding a class in CheckMarq, it can take up to two hours for that course to appear in your D2L account.
- Visit the D2L system check and correct any issues found.
- Try logging into D2L with a different web browser (e.g., Firefox, Chrome, Edge, or Safari).
- Clear the web browser cache and remove any browser cookies for d2l.mu.edu.
- Ensure your web browser is up to date with the latest version.
- Check for updates on your computer and apply them, restarting if needed.
Getting Help
- Access live chat in D2L (bottom right icon) for real-time support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Call (414) 288-7799 and listen for which key to press for 24/7 D2L phone support, including weekends and holidays.

- Students: Place a service request for questions about D2L

Note: By default, students will see their D2L course site three days before the start of classes. However, some instructors may choose to open D2L course sites sooner.
