Information Technology Services is updating ethernet ports on campus throughout the spring semester to further protect you and your university data. This update will prevent unauthorized access and enhance network security and compliance by verifying the identity and credentials of each user or device before granting access to the wired network.
Ethernet ports will be updated on a building-by-building basis. A full schedule of completed and upcoming buildings is available below. Building contacts will be notified prior to work being done within their respective buildings.
What to expect for Windows 10 and 11 computers?
Windows 10 and 11 computers managed by Marquette (domain-joined) and receiving updates will sign into the wired network with your credentials when you are logged in, or the computer name when no user is logged in.
What to expect for Mac computers?
Mac computers managed by Marquette (domain-joined) and receiving updates will sign in to wired network at the login window when you log in.
What to expect for desk phones, MFDs and other devices?
Desk phones, multifunction devices, and other devices will attempt profiling and if successfully profiled will be allowed on the network. If these devices or any other similar devices do not join, please report the issue to ITS.
What if I can't connect or if I have a personally owned computer?
Utilize campus Wi-Fi networks. If not possible, contact the TechSquad for additional assistance.
Despite all efforts and planning, some issues with devices connecting may occur. If your individual device is malfunctioning, please try rebooting. If you are still unable to connect to the wired network, contact the IT Services TechSquad.
