Career Goals: As a physical therapist, I would love to work with young athletes so that they can return to sport and what they love to do while playing a role in keeping them injury-free and performing their best. I could also see myself working in neuro or outpatient ortho to help improve one's quality of life. My goals are always evolving as my knowledge and passion for this career expand — the versatility of physical therapy creates so much room for opportunities.

Why did you choose the College of Health Sciences at Marquette? I chose CHS because our health is our wealth! The classes in this college are patient-centered and applicable to our future careers with many hands-on opportunities while continuing to expand the scope of what it means to be a healthcare worker. The faculty have incredible respect and passion for their area of expertise and want to play an active part in their student's successes and well-being.

How did you pick your major/program? Growing up, I participated in various sports and loved to stay active, which led to several injuries and PT sessions. Meanwhile, I was also intrigued when watching professional sports, and I was curious to know what contributed to their incredible athletic ability. Exercise Physiology was the perfect major to itch this curiosity that I had while preparing me for the direct-admit DPT program. Physical therapy is a profession that allows me to directly impact a patient's physical function and quality of life by addressing their impairments, whether it is from a musculoskeletal injury or recovery from surgery or systemic condition. I like learning about the complexities of the human body and how each system can influence each other; it's like solving a puzzle to get a patient to respond well to treatment with clinical reasoning. I wanted to develop these skills in a program with caring and passionate faculty, and Marquette's physical therapy program checked off those boxes. I genuinely enjoy learning and gaining knowledge in my classes, I couldn't imagine myself in another career.

What is your favorite spot on campus? This is specific to me, but I love the pathway between Abbottsford Hall and the Al Mcquire Center covered with trees. I frequently made that walk as a freshman when I lived in Cobeen Hall and worked as a DR at Abbottsford, so I revisit that pathway sometimes to remind myself of how far I've come. To study, I spend a lot of time at Raynor Library, the business building, law school, and AMU.
