Educational Opportunity Program was established in 1969 as an institutional program by Arnold Mitchem and through the combined efforts of students, faculty, and administrators who believed that Marquette University had both the opportunity and responsibility to make Marquette education more accessible to low income, first-generation and minority students.
The 40 students and one member staff that comprised the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) in 1969 now serves over 500 students annually. The success of the Educational Opportunity Program is evident in the success of its students.
