Dear Marquette community,
During President Michael R. Lovell’s recent Presidential Address, he discussed the
positive steps we have taken to increase diversity of our faculty and students, and
the importance of creating an inclusive community. One of the ways to measure success
and learn where we need to devote our energy and resources is by hearing from campus.
President Lovell announced that we would be undertaking our second Campus Climate
Study and encouraged everyone on campus to take a few minutes to participate in this
important initiative.
Starting today, we are accepting responses to our second Campus Climate Survey: mu.edu/climate-survey.
We need your help to maintain momentum toward creating an open, fair and welcoming
environment for all students, staff and faculty. Please take time out of your day
to participate.
Our first survey was done in 2015 and has led to significant improvements at Marquette
University. In the Jesuit tradition of magis, however, we know we can do more. What we need from you right now is your perspective
on where we have made strides forward and where we haven’t.
We understand the importance of gathering unbiased information, and we assure you
that all answers will remain confidential. Your participation is voluntary, and you
will not be identifiable as an individual. Results will be reported in group form
only. Additional information about the project is available on the Campus Climate Study website.
Please invest the estimated 20 minutes needed to answer the questions by going to
the survey at mu.edu/climate-survey. Through your participation, our university will better understand the current Marquette
experience of all community members.
Thank you in advance for your critical contribution to Marquette’s future.
Sincerely,
Dr. William C. Welburn
Vice President for Inclusive Excellence
Dr. Kimo Ah Yun
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
