Overview
Overview
This report gives deans, associate deans, and department chairs access to information about students' progress toward completing their course requirements.
Filters
Use the filters at the top of the page to update the content of the report. Requirement-level filters include the following: College, Requirement Group, Requirement, and Requirement Line Number. Student-level filters include the following: Years at MU, Academic Level, Admit Type, Honors Status, Number of Majors, and Enrollment Status.
By default, the BA in Anthropology requirement group is displayed.
Data Refresh Schedule
This report is updated each Tuesday at 9am. Unlike the "Majors, Minors, and Graduate Program Enrollment" report, which relies on Census data, this report captures mid-term changes to students' majors and minors.
During active registration periods for Fall and Spring (April through August, November through January), the report will focus on students who are enrolled or eligible to enroll in the upcoming term. Otherwise, the report will focus on currently enrolled students.
Key Terminology
This report uses Academic Advisement data from CheckMarq. As such, it uses the same terminology as the Academic Advisement reports on Checkmarq.
Requirement Group (Rq. Group): This is the highest level of the course requirement hierarchy. Majors, Minors, the Marquette Core Curriculum, and college-specific core curricula are requirement groups.
Requirement (Rq.): This is the middle level of the course requirement hierarchy. Typically, a requirement group will have two or more requirements associated with it. Once a student has completed all the requirements for a particular requirement group, they have completed that requirement group.
Requirement Line (Rq. Line)*: This is the lowest level of the course requirement hierarchy. Each requirement has at least one requirement line associated with it. Once a student has completed all the requirement lines for a particular requirement, they have completed that requirement.
Courses Required, Units Required*: This is the number of courses (or units) a student must take to complete a requirement line.
*Sometimes, the requirement lines that apply to a particular student, or the number of courses or units that are required, will vary depending on when they started at Marquette or declared their major or minor.

How This Report Can Inform Your Work
Course Scheduling: The Course Requirement Tracker can inform the course scheduling process by showing how many students have completed, or have yet to complete, a given requirement or requirement line. It can also show the courses that are the most (and least) popular when it comes to fulfilling a particular requirement line.
Advising: This report can also inform how department chairs communicate with students and academic advisors. For example, a department chair can use the report in early Spring, before Fall registration opens, to identify a list of third-year students who have not yet completed their major requirements. The chair could then communicate directly with those students to remind them about the courses they need to complete in the coming year. Alternatively, the chair could pass the information along to the appropriate advisors.
