Overview

This report shows individuals involved in enrollment management how registration for graduate students in a particular academic term is progressing in comparison to previous terms at the same time point in the registration period. Updated nightly during the registration period through the term's census date.

Data Refresh Schedule

The data in the report is refreshed nightly during a term's registration period through the term's census date. The table below describes for each term when the report will start running and when it will end. Please note that the registration period for summer and fall overlap, and the report will default to the fall term.

Profile Page

This page shows how registration for undergraduate students in a particular academic term is progressing in comparison to previous terms at the same time point in the registration period. The report can be filtered by various student programs and characteristics.

Potential Uses

• Get the status of key registration metrics on a particular day in the registration period.
• Identify whether key registration metrics differ from previous years and explore how the metrics differ by student program and characteristic to determine whether action should be taken.
• Compare registration metrics by student program and characteristic to determine if action should be taken.

Key Metrics

• The values displayed in this section are meant to give a snapshot of important metrics during registration. The metrics are as of the end of the day displayed at the top of the report.
• Next to the value is the percent change or difference compared to the reference group selected (filter in the top left of the report). The default is the Prior Year.
  • The percent change value is colored by whether the change is an increase or decrease from the reference group. The value will be dark orange if they are down from the reference group, blue if they are up, and dark grey if there was no real change.
• Hover over a metric to see a time trend.
  • For the Average Credits Registered, hover over the value to see the registered credit distribution.

Heat Map

• The heat map shows a break down of the key metrics by student program information.
  • It is colored based on the percent change in comparison to the reference group that is selected. The color range is determined by the maximum and minimum percent change values that are shown in the report.
  • Percent change is not calculated if the reference group value is less than 20 for numeric values and less than 80% for percent values.
    • For example, if the previous year value for the number of registered students is 12 or if the percent registered of eligible is 72%, then the percent change will not be calculated and will appear white in the table.
    • Values that meet this percent change threshold will be colored orange if they are negative and blue if they are positive.
    • if the comparison value for the comparison is 0, no percent change is calculated.
  • Darker colored cells indicate a larger change compared to the comparison year and in comparison the values in the view.
• Hover over a value in the table to see the time trend.
• Hover over the college column heading and select the (+) to drill down into more specific program information or hover over ""Overall"" to roll it up completely.

This report shows how various registration metrics for a particular academic term have progressed by day across the registration period and how that progression compares to previous years. The report can be filtered by various student programs and characteristics.

Potential Uses

• Identify whether registration patterns are similar to previous years. If different, identify whether differences are due to a specific student programs or subpopulation.
• Understand how registration metrics in the academic term of interest may track later in the registration period based on behavior in previous terms
• Explore whether registration for a group of students deviates significantly from previous years

Velocity Curve

This chart shows how a metric is progressing across the registration period by day. It shows how a particular registration metric has changed over the registration period in comparison to past years. The default metric is ""Registered Headcount.""

• The most recent three years is shown by default. Add more years using the Term Year filter in under Report Filters.
• Hover over a time point in the curve to see the time trend for that particular day.
• Use the ""Highlight Term Year"" to highlight a specific year in the chart.
• Use the filter in the header to switch between metrics.
