The annual First-Time, First-Year Student Survey investigates students� predicted academic success, their expectations for Marquette, technology use, their concerns, academic confidence and the activities in which they would like to get involved. The questions are designed to relate directly to questions that are asked on the annual Graduating Senior Survey.
The survey is administered online at a mandatory program during New Student Orientation, with follow up message sent electronically to nonresponders.
Response Rates: The overall response rates per year are the following:
2023 - 92%, 2022 - 94%, 2021 - 97%, 2019 - 97%, 2018 - 83%, 2017 - 91%
The 2020 administration was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic
This dashboard can help you answer questions such as:
- In what high impact practices do students intend to participate?
- How many hours per week do students estimate they will study, work for pay, or participate in service or co-curricular activities?
- What concerns do students have as they begin their first year at Marquette?
- How successful do they believe they will be academically?
Data Notes
- Students of Color are students who are members of one of the following racial or ethnic groups: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and Two or More Races. These categories apply to students who are US citizens or permanent residents.
- If no data appear for a question in a given year of the survey, the question was not asked on the survey that year.
