Michael T. Sneathern, Law '02
Michael Sneathern knew at a young age that he was destined for a future in sports. He thought that meant playing quarterback for the University of Southern California and a career in the NFL. Though he says those goals "never came close to happening," he is an important sports insider — associate counsel for the Milwaukee Bucks.
"I've always had an interest in becoming an attorney, working to resolve issues and making an impact in sports," he says.
Marquette University Law School was instrumental in Michael's career and approach to work and life. He has a National Sports Law Institute Sports Law Certificate, and an internship with the Bucks led to his job there.
Michael carries with him the message from former Dean Howard Eisenberg to "do well, and do good." He has volunteered with Boys & Girls Clubs and the United Way and been a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Section Board of the Wisconsin State Bar and the Law School's Sports Law Board. He also supervises law student interns, has been a guest lecturer for the Sports Law program, hosts Sports Law Society students for behind-the-scenes tours of the Bradley Center, and is generous with advice and counsel for program students and directors.
The Law School and the friendships he made here remain close to Michael's heart.
