Step into a role that affects more than 70% of medical decisions. Here, you’ll learn to diagnose diseases, understand toxic substances, and explore cardiac and cancer markers through hands-on lab work. In your senior year, you'll land a six-month clinical placement at a leading hospital or clinic close to campus. And if you’re interested in going on to graduate or professional school, this is a great place to start. 

After graduation, you’ll be eligible to take the national certification exam — which nearly 100% of our grads pass. Hands-on learning for career success

Spaces to learn

In our gross anatomy lab, you'll see the human body up close for an entire, intensive semester. It's one of the only gross anatomy courses for undergrads in the country. 

Clinicals and professional experience

As a medical laboratory science major, you’ll have a guaranteed clinical placement in your senior year, which will give you the chance to apply what you’ve learned in class directly to the lab. 

Undergraduate research

You’ll get a chance to work with internationally respected researchers and their teams who are tackling some of society's most pressing medical problems.  

Here are some of the things Marquette faculty and students are solving right now: 

  • Diagnosing sexually transmitted infections 
  • Diagnosing the presence of parasites in humans 

Leadership learning

Become a people-centered leader guided by our Jesuit tradition. Join our E-Lead program sophomore year and you’ll complete a combination of leadership courses and experiences that prepare you to be the drivers of innovation for the common good. You’ll develop the skill set to generate innovative solutions and the mindset to reflect on the impact your work has on the world. Bonus: You’ll graduate with a concentration in leadership, too.
