Admissions overview
Marquette has a formal application deadline of December 1.
Applications completed after our deadline will be considered on a space-available basis. There is no early action and no early decision. Because admission to Marquette is pooled, we take time to thoroughly review all credentials submitted to the committee. We expect our admission decisions to be finalized, and letters to be mailed, beginning after the New Year holiday. Depending on the volume of applications received, the actual notification date may change.
The deadline for special scholarship programs is February 15.
When you apply to Marquette, we look at the big picture, including:
- High school/college performance (this is most important to us)
- Quality of high school course selection
- Rank in class (when available)
- ACT (with writing) and/or SAT
- Your essay
- Extracurricular activities
- Guidance counselor recommendation (not required of transfer students)
