The Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL) and the Loan to Disadvantaged Students (LDS) are loans available for graduate and professional students that are pursuing degrees in dentistry from Marquette University. They are designed as lower-interest loans to assist students with the financial burden of college. No interest accrues on the loans while students are enrolled at least half-time working toward a dentistry degree, and no interest accrues during deferment or grace periods.

It is important to note that the HPSL and LDS are Health and Human Services (HHS) Loans. Although HHS loans are considered Federal loans for consolidation purposes, the school is the lender. The loan will be billed separately from your other federal loans.

If you would like to consolidate your HPSL or LDS loan(s) in with your other federal loans, please see more information on federal loan consolidation.
