Marquette is committed to fostering a learning environment that is safe, conducive to academic success and supportive of healthy personal development for all members of the campus community.  Everyone on Marquette’s campus shares responsibility for maintaining this environment by following university policies and exemplifying respect for others as communicated through our Statement on Human Dignity and Diversity.

In accordance with Title IX, and consistent with Marquette’s commitment to human dignity, any type of sexual discrimination is taken seriously and is investigated by the university.  Sexual discrimination includes gender inequity as well as all forms of sexual misconduct including sexual harassment, stalking, sexual assault and other acts of sexual violence. The university will take prompt action to eliminate the sexual discrimination or misconduct, prevent its recurrence and address its effects.

All university employees, with limited exceptions for those with “legal privilege”, have a duty to report crimes to the Department of Public Safety.  Reports of sexual misconduct may be made to the Department of Public Safety, Marquette’s Victim Advocate or any Title IX Deputy at Marquette.

Marquette’s Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Title IX Coordinators, as listed below, are responsible for ensuring compliance with Title IX standards.  These responsibilities include preventing sexual misconduct through education and training, overseeing grievance protocol.
