Janet K. Boles

JANET K. BOLES is a professor and teaches undergraduate courses on American politics, urban politics and public policy, women in American politics, perspectives on women in society, and the politics of race, ethnicity, and gender, as well as a graduate course on women and public policy. She has published extensively on the feminist movement, women in politics and elected office, and women and public policy. She is the author of The Politics of the Equal Rights Amendment, co-author of The Historical Dictionary of Feminism (new edition forthcoming), editor of American Feminism and The Egalitarian City, and co-editor of Women of Color: Defining the Issues, Hearing the Voices. She has served as president of the American Political Science Association Organized Section on Women and Politics Research and on the editorial or advisory boards of Ms., Women and Politics, American Journal of Political Science, Women's Studies Encyclopedia, and the University of Nebraska Press Book Series on Women and Politics. Her research on elected women and public policy in Milwaukee has received several awards. Janet.Boles@Marquette.edu
