Marquette President Scott R. Pilarz, S.J., announced earlier today that Marquette's Board of Trustees endorsed the Marquette University strategic plan, Beyond Boundaries: Setting the Course for Marquette's Future. This affirmation followed votes of endorsement from the University Academic Senate, the Dean's Council and the President's Cabinet. The plan was created during the past 18 months through a process that engaged the entire campus community, alumni and the Board of Trustees, and was supported by the Strategic Plan Coordinating Committee, which included student representation.
Bill Cosby Commencement address to be webcast; Senior Week tickets still available
Marquette will live webcast Commencement, including a keynote address by Bill Cosby. Information and details about the webcast will be posted the week of May 6 on the Commencement website. Tickets are not required for the all-university Commencement ceremony, which is open to the public. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Bradley Center.
Tickets are still available for a selection of Senior Week activities, including the Family Fish Fry on May 17. Ticket information and event details are available online.
Summer housing and storage information; residence halls close May 11
Final exams are next week and residence hall move-out is just behind them. Students should arrange a checkout time with a residence hall staff member within 24 hours of their last exam, or by noon, Saturday, May 11, when the residence hall will close. Additional information and contact information regarding summer housing and storage is available on the Office of Residence Life website.
Things to do in Milwaukee during the summer
Milwaukee is an amazing place to be during the summer. From beautiful parks to rocking festivals, there is plenty to see and do during the summer months. It's also a perfect time to check off some items on the "100 things to do before graduating from Marquette" list.
Asking the Big Questions: Advice from 5-year-olds
The Vocation Programs, sponsored by the Office of Student Development, helps students learn about themselves, their gifts, talents and passions, and how to match those gifts with the needs of the world. Throughout the year, the program sponsored the BIG Questions Series, to help engage the campus community in deeper conversations about the human experience. Last month, the program reached out to Marquette's Childcare Center to get advice for college students from five-year-olds.
