Megan Knowles

My name is Megan Knowles and I grew up in the Western suburbs of Chicago, where I spent many years enjoying the countless shopping malls and lush, dog-filled parks before moving to Milwaukee to attend Marquette. This is my second semester as an Editorial Intern at OMC and I have very much appreciated the opportunity to gain writing experience and work on a variety of projects.

Outside of work, I enjoy frequenting Milwaukee restaurants, listening to music from indie pop to new wave, and playing old school video games. I’ve been a cellist for twelve years and am a member of the Marquette Symphony Orchestra.

After college, I’d like to live in a bustling metropolis like Boston or Chicago and obtain an editorial position at a publishing company. Despite wanting to move to a large city, I hope that one day I can have a home large enough to support a Great Pyrenees.

Favorite Food: Asian nachos from Grand Lux Café in Chicago (Hard to describe but they are giant fried wontons covered in delicious peanut sauce, mozzarella cheese, and wasabi cream. Everyone should try an Asian nacho.)

Favorite Entertainer: The Beatles

Favorite Quote: “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” - Søren Kierkegaard
