Sigma Theta Tau is the nursing honor society and chapters throughout the United States and in other countries. The Delta Gamma chapter is housed in the College of Nursing. The mission of the organization is to provide leadership and scholarship in nursing practice, education and research.
Membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students and community nursing leaders. Once a year, undergraduate and graduate students with advanced standing are invited to an on-campus induction ceremony.
The Delta Gamma chapter meets formally throughout the year and hosts events such as:
MUSNA, the Marquette University Students Nurses Association, is a professional organization comprising nursing students at all levels that serves as a liaison between students and faculty. It is a service-based organization whose members volunteer within the university and the surrounding community.
MUSNA works hard to build strong relationships between the different grades and encourages students to actively organize, participate in and facilitate activities. Students are given opportunities to build confidence and leadership skills that can be applied to their future nursing practices.
MUSNA is an official member of the Wisconsin Student Nurses Association, a branch of the National Student Nurses Association. Members have the opportunity to attend WSNA/NSNA conventions in the fall and spring to further increase their opportunities at the state and national levels.
If you would like to become involved in MUSNA, please contact our faculty adviser, Judy Kowatsch, at (414) 288-3727 or by e-mail.
