Credit for Military Education and Training
Marquette University is part of the Joint Commitment to Accept Student Military Transfer Credit sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU). As outlined in that commitment, Marquette uses recommendations from the American Council on Education (ACE) to guide equivalency determinations for military education and training. As with all transfer credit, the evaluation of military education and training does not guarantee credit will be awarded. In the evaluation process, consideration is given to the applicability of the education and training to Marquette undergraduate programs as well as the documented breadth, depth and rigor of the learning objectives and experience. Faculty in the disciplinary area most closely related to the education and training are the final authority on the award of credit.
Students should request to have their official Joint Service Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript submitted to Marquette University as part of the application process for admission to the university.
Review established credit equivalency determinations:
If education and training courses do not appear in the links above, equivalency determinations have not been made. Those determinations will be made through an evaluation process when a JST or CCAF transcript is received with the courses listed.
Military Tuition Assistance
Military Tuition Assistance is a benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.
Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application processes and restrictions. This money is usually paid directly to the institution by the individuals service.
Service members should speak with their Educational Services Officer or Counselor prior to enrolling at Marquette. After submitting a Tuition Assistance request, submit a copy of your request to Marquette Central.
