There are three ways to enable MSCS email forwarding:

Enable email forwarding from MY MSCS

  1. In MSCS department home page, click on “MY MSCS” tab.
  2. On clicking the above tab it will take you to an authentication screen, which will ask you to enter your Login Name and Password. Your Login Name and Password are same as your Pascal account credentials. After entering your details click enter.
  3. Now you are in “MY MSCS” account. Here, to your left you will find different links. In that click on “MSCS Email” link. This will expand the tree and you will find “Email Forward” link. Click on the link.
  4. In “Email Forward” page you will see two panels one is “Current Forward Setting” panel and “Add New Forward” panel. If you are setting up your email forwarding for the first time, you will find “Not enabled” in Current Forward Setting panel.
  5. Now you can setup your email forwarding by entering the email addresses you wish to forward your emails to in the text box in Add New Forward panel. After you have entered all the email addresses comma separated, click add button beside the text box.
  6. Now you will find the email addresses you have added, in the Current Forward Setting panel.
  7. If you want to disable email forwarding or just remove some of the emails from the list you have enabled, click in the check box beside the respective email address (or all the check boxes in case you want to disable email forwarding) you want to remove and click on the delete button in the same panel.
  8. Now you will find the updated list of emails or if you selected to delete all the email addresses list then you will find “Not enabled” in Current Forward Setting panel.

Enable email forwarding under UNIX environment

  1. Log into your pascal account, edit .qmail file under your home directory using vi.
    (After you successfully log in, the directory you are in is the home directory. If you are not in the home directory, type the command "cd $HOME".)
  2. Type the destination email addresses. Make sure each line contains only one email address.
  3. Save the .qmail file and exit.
  4. If you want to disable email forwarding or just remove some of the emails from the list you have enabled, follow step 1 then Delete the email addresses you do not want in forwarding list then Save the .qmail file and exit.

Enable email forwarding under Windows environment

  1. Log into your Windows account.
  2. Under the root directory of your Z drive (that is "Z:\"), open .qmail file using Notepad. If it does not exist, create a new one.
  3. Type the destination email addresses. Make sure each line contains only one email address.
  4. Save and exit. If it is a new file, the "save as type" option would be "All Files" and "File Name" option would be ".qmail"
  5. If you want to disable email forwarding or just remove some of the emails from the list you have enabled, follow step 1. Then Under the root directory of your Z drive (that is "Z:\"), open .qmail file using Notepad. Delete the email addresses you do not want in forwarding list then Save the .qmail file and exit.
