Good bye "Mr. P."

Marquette’s journalism/communication college lost one of its finest with the death of Ed Pepan (see “Remembering,” page 29). “Mr. P.” will be missed but never forgotten by all those who crossed paths with him.

Dennis Hendley, Jour ’70

Take it on the road

I greatly enjoy reading Marquette Magazine, and I wanted to express my gratitude to the staff for putting together the contents every season. It is one of the few pieces of mail that my family consistently repackages and sends to my home abroad. After reading articles about alumni achievement and the paths alums have taken, I realized that I, too, had a story that I could share with others. …with the hope that it can give others encouragement and a vision of service — just as many of the articles have given me. My story is about how my Marquette education has unraveled in the world.

Blooming seeds

I enjoyed reading the article “Gather Us In” about the Manresa Project. I thought you would like to know that this is not the first time Marquette has supported an internship in lay and liturgical ministry for a graduate student. Back in 1974, I was part of the Campus Ministry staff as an intern. Like the description of the current program, this included graduate studies in theology, spiritual direction and guidance/reflection on the ministry experience. It was a profound experience. …Thirty years later, I still work in parish ministry. …Perhaps my experience was a seed planted by Marquette Campus Ministry in 1974 that continues to grow.
