FAQ: Company Information
Or, how do you find information about a
company?

Finding information
about a specific company usually means that you want to answer some, or all, of the
following questions about it:
- Where can I get a profile or history of the company?
- What is the most recent news about the company? What are its plans?
- Where can I get the company's financial statements? Can I download them?
- How does the company compare to others in the same industry?
- What is the company's market share? Who are its competitors?
- Who are its customers? What are their demographics?
- How can I find out about the company's president, CEO, and other executives?
- Where can I get investment advice on this company? Stock quotes? Its beta
value?
But ... WAIT!!
Before you can answer some of these
questions, you may need to answer several other questions first. Where you look for
information, what types of information and how much you can expect to find, are determined
by the answers to the three questions below:
- Is the company public or private?
- Is the company based in the US or abroad?
- Is the company a subsidiary or parent?
