Atlases

  • An Atlas of the Universe
Created by astrophysicist Richard Powell, An Atlas of the Universe is a Web site designed to give everyone an idea of what our universe actually looks like.  There are nine main maps on this web page, each one approximately ten times the scale of the previous one.  The first map shows the nearest stars and then the other maps slowly expand out until we have reached the scale of the entire visible universe.  The maps give perspective to the vastness that lies beyond earth.
  • Digital Lunar Orbiter Photographic Atlas of the Moon
This Web site gives quick access to 675 high-quality photographs of the lunar surface, taken by five Lunar Orbiter missions launched in 1966-67, by feature name, photo number, and coordinate range.
  • New Worlds Atlas from NASA Planet Quest.
  • PDS Imaging Node Atlas
Provided by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
