Libraries Announce Chronicle Trial |
October 2007—The Libraries are pleased to offer a trial of The Chronicle of Higher Education online through the month of October. In addition to promoting use of the weekly newspaper and its special features, the Libraries hope interest in an online subscription would result in University savings through cancellations of print subscriptions. While the list of subscribers is confidential, the publisher has identified more than 55 Marquette mail addresses among their subscribers. The latest issue of the Chronicle of Higher Education is available every Monday morning. The online edition also offers daily news updates, statistics, essays, grant listings, and unlimited, searchable access to the complete archives since September 1989. During the trial, the Chronicle is available to Marquette users from any campus network location, as well as from off campus. Nearly 700 institutions have campus-wide electronic subscriptions, including Columbia University, Georgetown University, Loyola University of Chicago, Princeton University, Wake Forest University, and Xavier University.
