Scott A. RobertsScott A. Roberts, Bus Ad ’85, was elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees in 2013.

He serves as president of Ziegler Capital Management, LLC (ZCM). Roberts has been in the investment management business for over 25 years.
Prior to joining ZCM, he was president and CIO of Deerfield Capital Management, responsible for all investment management, marketing, and operational activities of the firm. Before joining Deerfield Capital, Roberts was chief investment officer at several Zurich Insurance Company subsidiaries, including Scudder Kemper Investments, Zurich Investment Management, and Centre Investment Services. Prior to Zurich, Roberts was a fixed income portfolio manager for Loomis Sayles in Milwaukee. Before Loomis Sayles, Roberts was a senior vice president and portfolio manager for Putnam Investments in Boston.

Roberts has served on the boards of directors of several of the firms with which he has worked, including Centre Cat, Centre Investment Services, Zurich Investment Management, Liberty Hampshire, Deerfield Capital, and Ziegler Capital Management. He served as chair of the Investment Committee of Deerfield Triarc Capital Corp., a publicly traded real estate investment trust, from 2004 to 2006. Roberts serves on the board of Catholic Charities of Chicago, and is an emeritus board member at Marquette University High School and Nativity Jesuit Middle School. Roberts received an MBA in finance and investments from the Applied Security Analysis Program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1987, and a bachelor of science in accounting and finance from Marquette in 1985.

Roberts lives in Brookfield, Wis., with his wife, Elizabeth, Bus Ad ’87, and has four children: Tiffany, Bus Ad ’10; April; Dane, Bus Ad ’18; and Rachel. He is a member of the Marquette University President’s Society.
