Basic Life Insurance
All regular, full-time employees (those who work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week on a nine-twelve month annual basis) and full-time temporary employees (who have at least a one year appointment) are not responsible for basic life insurance premiums. Full-time employees are automically enrolled in Basic Life Insurance; therefore if your personal situation changes, please complete a change of beneficiary form to update your beneficiaries.
Regular part-time employees can enroll, but must pay the full premium on a payroll deduction basis.
Marquette's basic life insurance plan provides basic coverage equal to one times your annual salary, rounded up to the next $1,000, at no cost to the employee. In addition, at the time of hire, employees may purchase optional coverage of one, two or three times their basic amount, subject to certain limitations.

Under MetLife the rates you pay for optional coverage in cents-per-thousand are as follows:
Under 35 $0.054 per $1,000 per month
35-39 $0.090 per $1,000 per month
40-44 $0.144 per $1,000 per month
45-49 $0.261 per $1,000 per month
50-54 $0.432 per $1,000 per month
55-59 $0.639 per $1,000 per month
60-64 $1.043 per $1,000 per month
65+ $1.457 per $1,000 per month
