On Saturday, March 24th, the Human Performance Assessment Core (HPAC) hosted its second indoor triathlon at Marquette University. Thirty-eight athletes completed the 500-yd swim in Helfaer Rec Center, the 10-mile bike ride in Cramer Hall’s Strength and Conditioning Laboratory, and the 3-mile run on Marquette’s Mile.
Marquette student Elliot Slade (German and Economics, Class of 2018) won the men’s overall in 49:21. Anna Bondow, a local triathlete, won the women’s division in 57:22. Athletes came from Madison, Mizzu, and Indianapolis.
Our oldest participant, DeWitt Clinton of Shorewood, won the 70-74 year-old division 2 years in a row. Look for this event next spring to test your own fitness. In the meantime, HPAC offers non-competitive fitness testing (www.marquette.edu/HPAC) services for Marquette University and is open to the public.
Innovative technologies and performance analytics. The HPAC was at Discovery World to guide visitors through a hands-on exploration of sports medicine, performance technologies and biomechanics.
The Marquette University Indoor Triathlon took place on campus and houses the swim, bike and run starts all within a few blocks.
Congratuations to our 2017 winners!
