Symposium on the Civil War era celebrates the career of Professor Emeritus Jim Marten

Join us on March 21-22, 2024 for short presentations by leading historians, including Stephen Berry, Bill Blair, Stephen Engle, Lorien Foote, Caroline Janney, Stephen Kantrowitz, Amy Murrell Taylor, and more. 

Our 2024 Rev. Henry Casper Lecture will be held at 7 pm on Monday, April 22 in the Lunda Room, Alumni Memorial Union.  The speaker is Professor Julia Adeney Thomas (University of Notre Dame) and her talk will be "Frameworks for the Future: Environmental History, Climate Change, and the Anthropocene."  Dr. Peter Staudenmaier, is the host for her visit.
