Exercise as Medicine, Part 1 - Optimizing Health and Wellness

According to recent statistics by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 36 percent of Americans are obese, and an additional 34 percent are considered overweight. The impact of this epidemic is staggering, with increases in diseases like type-2 diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, risk of stroke and more, in addition to the economic impact on the nationís health care system.

There is one medicine that can help reverse the effects of obesity and aging and alleviate some of the symptoms of diseases. Itís free, can (and often should) be taken daily, and has a number of beneficial side effects. That medicine is exercise.
