International Graduate Student Health Insurance

International students must purchase the student health insurance plan that is required by the Office of International Education. International students are billed for their insurance premiums by the Office of the Bursar in September for the fall term, and in January for the spring term. It is the responsibility of the student to make payment arrangements with the Bursar for all charges billed to their account by the payment due date.

Credits from the Graduate School

In 2014-15, the Graduate School will offer a maximum of $1,600 to help offset the costs international students must pay for their health insurance policy. The credit is the total amount for most full 10-month assistantships. Credits are applied directly to Bursar accounts by the Graduate School after classes begin. The fall portion of the credit will be given to students by mid- to late-September, and the spring portion of the credit will be given to students by late-January. The amounts of the credits, based on the award category and term of the award are shown in the tables below.
