MASTER OF ARTS IN EDUCATIONAL POLICY AND FOUNDATIONS
Our Master of Arts in educational policy and foundations is designed as a traditional master's program with an emphasis on leadership and research in public and private K-12 schools, higher education and other educational organizations and agencies. It is developed for those who wish to combine the study of foundations in education with research in an area of interest. Students this program complete 12 credits of foundational courses, six credits' worth of research courses, and 15 elective credits. Graduates of this program have gone on to pursue careers in educational research or nonprofit organizations, or to continue their education in a doctoral program.
The goal of our graduate programs is to engage the professional educator (teacher or other human-service organization leader) in extended critical reflection on principles, practices, rationales, and research methods related to their area of interest. Specifically, the program develops educational and human-service leaders with expertise in historical, philosophical and sociological foundations of educational policy issues.
Our programs are designed to accommodate the working professional, and content is composed to reflect diversity in student backgrounds, interests and professional objectives.
