What size gift will make a difference?

Every gift is important. Last year alone, all commitments to Marquette of less than $250 totaled more than $1.1 million. Donors thinking about making their first gift to Marquette shouldn't underestimate the impact of a $50, $100, $250 or $500 gift.

What is the difference between current-use and endowed scholarships?

Contributions to current use scholarships are used immediately to help meet the financial needs of current Marquette students. These scholarships are based on financial need and/or academic merit.

Endowed scholarships are maintained in a special fund, with annual investment earning used to fund scholarships. Donors must contribute a minimum of $100,000 to create a new endowed scholarship for undergraduates and a minimum of $50,000 to create a new endowed scholarship for graduate school or professional school students. Donors may contribute any amount to an existing endowed scholarship fund.

Does Marquette have a giving society?

Yes, the President's Society each year recognizes a special group of benefactors whose strong annual support helps us provide students with a transformative, Catholic and Jesuit education with a commitment to academic excellence. The society recognizes the generous contributions of those who make cash gifts of $2,500 to more than $25,000 to the university within a year (July 1 - June 30).
