Minor in neuroscience curriculum

A total of six courses is needed to complete the minor in health studies.

Complete at least two of these three required courses:

  • Functional Neuroanatomy
  • Neurobiology
  • Systems Neuroscience

Plus, three or four courses selected from any of the following:

  • Disease of the Brain
  • Biology, Moral Behavior and Policy
  • Modern Plagues: Addiction, Obesity and Stress
  • Endocrinology
  • Independent Study in Biomedical Sciences (with approval of topic)
  • Introduction to Neurological Disorders
  • Experimental Neurobiology
  • Laboratory Research Project in Biological Sciences (with approval of project)
  • Learning and Behavior
  • Cognition
  • Biopsychology
  • Affective Neuroscience
  • Human Factors Engineering
  • Advanced Undergraduate Seminar
  • Independent Study in Psychology (with approval of topic)
  • Medical Imaging Physics
  • Image Processing for the Biomedical Sciences
  • Neural Engineering
  • Rehabilitation Science and Engineering
  • Independent Study in Biomedical Engineering (with approval of topic)

No more than 6 cr. hrs. for students from the College of Health Sciences and College of Arts and Sciences and no more than 9 cr. hrs. for students from the College of Engineering can count towards both the neuroscience minor and their primary major (e.g., only 6 credits from the minor can also apply towards the 33 credits required for the BISC major)
