Neurophysiology Lab Volunteers

Volunteer to be a research subject

Younger (18-30 years) and older individuals (60 years old or greater) are needed for muscle fatigue studies involving leg and arm experiments. Healthy individuals will attend three to four times for experiments here at Marquette University or at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

To qualify for healthy aging studies, subjects must be HEALTHY with NONE of the following medical issues;

  • Stroke                                                 
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Peripheral vascular disease                 
  • Pacemaker                                                                              
  • Bypass surgery                                   
  • Diabetes                                                                                 
  • Severe physical limitations
  • Orthopedic injuries
  • Neurological disease

To qualify for FMRI atudies, additional medical screening is required. Download the MRI screening form.

Instructions for subjects participating in studies

  • On the day of your visit, eat and hydrate normally prior to testing
  • Don’t use caffeine two hours prior or alcohol 24 hours prior to testing
  • Wear loose fitting comfortable clothing
  • Don’t forget your parking pass
