Program
The College of Engineering is in the
process of adapting its curriculum to
reflect engineering in the 21st century and
the ever-increasing computational skill
sets required for success. These changes
will add to the Marquette engineers’
preparation without sacrificing learning
timeless engineering principles.
Beginning fall semester 2008,
all engineering freshmen and transfer students will be
required to have a laptop computer.
Recommended Laptop Computer System Requirements
- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz processor or higher
- 32bit Vista or Windows XP (Software will not run on Mac OS X)
- 4GB RAM minimum
- 100GB Hard Disk Drive
- 10/100Base ethernet Network Interface
- DVD/CD-RW Combo drive
- Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n
- 4 year warranty

Computer Support Policy
The College of Engineering offers students basic computer support to assist with the installation of required engineering software applications. Support is limited to current Windows XP and Vista operating systems. On Apple computers, students with more advanced technology experience may install Windows within Bootcamp or VMware Fusion environments. However, due to the nature and complexity of operating systems, the computer support staff cannot assist with Windows installations on Apple computers. Students are encouraged to contact their course instructors for assistance using the engineering software.
