The College of Education is pleased to announce that Michael Moore, alumnus and associate principal of Cudahy Middle School, has been named the 2011 Wisconsin Associate Principal of the Year.
Nominations for the Principal of the Year program come from fellow administrators, school board members, teachers, students, or parents. Criteria for being chosen to represent the state’s school principals and assistant or associate principals include a commitment to excellence, high expectations of staff, evidence of outstanding contributions to the school and the profession, and being an established and respected member of the community.
In Moore's case, the judges were particularly impressed with the information and supportive data highlighting the ways in which Moore’s school has used collaborative leadership, personalization, and assessment to make positive strides to improve the learning which takes place at Cudahy Middle School.
The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators exists to coordinate the collective interests and needs of school administrators and to enhance their professional growth and competency for the purpose of improving the quality of educational opportunities for the youth of Wisconsin.
