Hartman Center Receives Funding for Summer Program

Released: 10/19/15

The inaugural “Dwyane Wade Live to Dream Summer Reading Program” in the Hartman Center may be over, but the work is ongoing. While the first three years of the program are covered by the Wade’s World Foundation gift, Marquette University has been challenged to raise three years’ worth of funding for a total of six years of summer reading instruction. The College of Education is pleased to announce partnerships to cover the cost of two of the remaining three years; the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and the Todd Wehr Foundation have stepped up to fund the summers of 2018 and 2019.

Additionally, Dr. Kathleen Clark, Director of the Hartman Center has secured a grant from the Dollar General Foundation to purchase additional books for the Center.
