The annual Diversity Gala is a philanthropic effort by the department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology to highlight and encourage increasing diversity in the mental health field. Organized and initiated by the CECP graduate student organization, the Gala generates funding for the annual Diversity Scholarship. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to selected department students of culturally diverse backgrounds.
The Diversity Gala is a formal celebration of culture and diversity that offers a unique opportunity to create connections within the community. This year, the Diversity Gala will be held on April 17, 2010 from 6 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Milwaukee Public Museum. The keynote address will be presented by Christopher Boston, Director of Sustainable Communities at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation in Milwaukee.
Throughout the evening, guests will be invited to enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres through the Streets of Old Milwaukee, the European Village, Costa Rican Rainforest, and Third Planet Earth, followed by dinner, the keynote address and the Diversity Scholarship award presentation. The event will feature music, a variety of desserts, and a silent auction benefitting the Diversity Scholarship. Attire is semi-formal.
Tickets are $40 per person or $300 for a table of 8. Reservations must be made on or before Friday, April 2, 2010. Regretfully, late requests cannot be accommodated. Upon receipt of payment, you will receive an e-ticket confirmation of your reservation for the evening.
