Laura Bolger

Director of Development

This is Laura Bolger, Director of Development for the College of Education. In 2006, she walked the halls of the Schroeder Complex as a student in the Master’s level Community Counseling program. During this time, she experienced firsthand the impact Marquette University had on the community and the values it sought to instill in its students. She completed her degree in 2008 and began her professional career providing mental health and addictions counseling with under-served populations.

After several years of providing direct services to clients, she transitioned to a different kind of helping. In 2011, Laura started her fundraising career with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America – WI Chapter. She provided education to the community and raised awareness about these illnesses – her enthusiasm led to a 30% increase in revenue for the Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walks in Wisconsin.

In 2014, she felt called to make another professional change. She followed her heart and joined the American Heart Association – Milwaukee Chapter. As Director of Corporate Events, she spearheaded the Go Red For Women™ Movement. Over the course of two and half years, Laura leveraged community connections, networking and passion into revenue growth of over 80% - as well as igniting the first Go Red Movement in Milwaukee.

Laura is not the only proud MU alumni in her family, her brother, sister-in-law and several cousins are too! Laura is a “fur mom” to three kitties: BetsyLou, JellyBean and CowboyBoon (“the three-legged wonder cat!”). She also volunteers weekly at the Wisconsin Humane Society, caring for cats and walking dogs.

You can meet Laura most days in the Dean’s Suite in Schroeder Complex room 126. Please stop and say “Hi!”
