I am a junior interested in a computer science-related internship for next summer. I was wondering if the interviews being conducted in October are for next semester or the summer or both. Would it be worth it for me to sign up for some that I am interested in?

Some of the employers interviewing on campus for internships designate that they are looking for summer help. The ones who don't, it's hard to say. You could do any one of the following things:

  • Go ahead and sign up, and then you will get your foot in the door for summer.

  • Email the contact person (listed under details for the positions) and ask if it would be appropriate to interview if you are seeking summer positions.

  • Wait until spring and then interview.

January and February are prime times to be active in the internship search. Also, remember that there are a number of positions simply listed in the system but not available as campus interviews. Other internships are listed in directories in our office and on websites. Plus, if you know what company you would like to intern with, you might just pursue it separately. MU Career Manager is ONE way to find an internship. There are many other ways.
