This action-packed day is for you, the last-minute job seeker.  Up completion, you will be well on your way to an active job search.  Each topic will be addressed in a quick and concise manner, leading to a specific outcome.

Topics and outcomes include:

Getting to know the troops | 60 second commercial. Used as an introduction at career fairs, networking events, and in interviews when asked to tell a little more about yourself.
Outcome: you will have a perfect introduction for potential employers

Know yourself, know your skills | 10 skills, 10 examples that would demonstrate those skills Outcome: you will be able to articulate your strengths and give
examples to demonstrate those strengths

Inspection: Resume and Cover Letter Writing
| Students must bring resume and cover letter drafts in electronic format
Outcome: you will be prepared to make changes to your resume and cover letter during Computer Time.

Reconnaissance | Searching for jobs, three tactical moves: Responding to ads, Target list of employers, and Networking

Computer Time | Perfecting resume and cover letter, Locate, print, and apply for one professional position, Compile a targeted list of 15 employers for whom you would like to work
Outcome: you will have a perfect resume and cover letter, have located and applied for one professional position, and compiled a targeted list of 15 employers for whom you would like to work

From the trenches to the mess hall
Outcome: you will have eaten a good lunch and learned about career opportunities at Target Corporation.

Combat Training: Interviewing success
Outcome: you will be prepared for an interview and will have gained confidence in yourself and your skills

Drills |Mock interviews with employers, Networking, Resume Critique
Outcome: you will have compiled a list of 10 networking contacts and made plans to contact 1- 3 of them via phone or e-mail

De-briefing
| Questions and wrap up
Outcome: you will be ready for the job search
