Your chance to meet, connect, and network with professionals from a variety of career fields.

Date: Friday, November 9, 2012
Time: 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Location: Meet at SHAMU (east side of AMU facing Schroeder); Event at Kohl’s Corporate Headquarters (N56W17000 Ridgewood Drive, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051

This periodic large-scale event is designed to connect students with employers in a guided networking setting.  For the first time we are partnering with Kohl’s Corporate for a site visit and networking event.  Fifty professionals and fifty students will be guided through introductions and prompting questions for 50 minutes of speed networking followed by open networking and then a site tour.  Students will be bused to Kohl’s Corporate Headquarters in Menomonee Falls, WI (about 25 miles NW of MU). 

All students in all majors are invited.  We will make every effort to match students with professionals in their career fields of interest however some fields will be unrepresented.  Regardless students in all majors can practice their networking skills. 

Event Schedule:

1:45 p.m.                           Start boarding bus
2:00 p.m.                           Bus leaves for Kohl’s Corporate in Menomonee Falls, WI

3:10 p.m.                           Speed Networking
4:00 p.m.                           Open Networking with refreshments
4:20 p.m.                           Tours Begin
4:50 p.m.                           Tours end and bus loaded
5:00 p.m.                           Bus heads to Marquette
6:00 p.m.                           Arrive at Marquette

Student Information

Registration:

2. Fees:
   1. $10.00 deposit, paid by cash or check in the MUCSC
   2. Upon completing the event, as you leave the bus, you will be refunded your $10.00 deposit
3. Deadline for registration: November 2, 2012
4. All students in all majors, all classes, and all career fields are welcome

Complete your Registration:

1. Once you have registered for Speed Networking using MU Career Manager
2. Stop in to MUCSC (Holthusen Hall, First Floor [two doors down from the Varsity Theater]) and pay your $10.00 deposit with cash or check. 
3. Upon completing the event, as you leave the bus, you will be refunded your $10.00 deposit

Preparation: Practice your sixty-second commercial

1. Professionals will want to learn a little about you. We recommend having a sixty- second commercial about yourself, which should include: 
   1. Where you are now (degree, program, year in college)
   2. Where you have been (career-related experience, leadership experience, part-time work experience)
   3. Where you are going (future goals)

Preparation: Order business cards

1. Professionals may be interested in continuing the conversation.  Have business cards just in case! Stop in to MUCSC to purchase 30 business cards for $3.00. Learn more

Preparation: Prepare to dress for success

1. We recommend dressing in business casual attire
   1. Women: Skirt, khakis or pants; open-collar shirt, knit shirt, or sweater; casual-style dress (not too short, not too low-cut)
   2. Men: Seasonal sport coat or blazer with slacks or khakis; dress shirt with optional tie, or casual button-down shirt; open-collar or polo shirt; loafers or loafer-style shoes and socks

2. Marquette ID
