Marquette University broke ground on the new Jesuit Residence with a celebration for the Marquette community on Friday, Aug. 15.
The College of Arts and Sciences and the History Department relocated to the renovated Sensenbrenner Hall earlier this spring. Landscaping and final site work are in progress.
Renovations are complete on the lower level through the third floor, including the three large lecture halls. The fourth floor will be renovated this fall.
The building closed this summer so that the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology systems could be replaced. A modest amount of interior renovations also took place this summer.
Modifications are being made to the second and third floors to house the Educational Opportunity Program. Work on those floors will continue this fall.
