Over the summer, the Office of Student Development will be reconstructing space on the first floor of the Alumni Memorial Union to roll out the new Center for Leadership, Service and Involvement in time for the start of class in the fall. The new center will be housed in the current area known as the Student Organizations Commons (AMU Rooms 143/137) and it will integrate the functions of the current Center for Community Service and the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Center all into one location.
The Center for Leadership, Service and Involvement will feature new components such as three new conference rooms, expanded storage, increased mailbox availability and additional casual work space for student groups. The center, run by both graduate assistants and undergraduate program assistants, will also support the following focuses of both the Office of Student Development and the Office of Residence Life: Community Service, Commuter Programs, Greek Life, Late Night Marquette, Leadership Programs, Multicultural Affairs, Residence Life Programs, Student Organizations and Vocation Programs.
The first floor space formerly used to house the LEAD Center will be reconfigured into work space for the communications and design student staff who work for the Office of Student Development, Late Night Marquette and the Division of Student Affairs.
