Board of Trustees selects presidential search committee
The Board of Trustees has announced the presidential search committee,
which is charged with making a recommendation as to whom should succeed Rev. Scott Pilarz, S.J., as Marquette's 24th president. Six of the eight members of the search committee are Marquette alumni; this is the first search in Marquette's history to include a dean and a faculty member along with Board of Trustees members. Rev. Robert Wild, S.J., will serve as interim president during the search. Read more about the presidential search committee.

College of Nursing and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin partner to open new primary care clinic
Marquette's College of Nursing and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new primary care clinic on Sept. 27 at the COA Goldin Center. The clinic opened Oct. 1 and is staffed by adult and family nurse practitioners from the College of Nursing. It will serve children, adolescents and their adult caregivers. Higher Learning Commission completes site visit for Marquette's reaffirmation of accreditation
Two years of preparation culminated in a three-day visit to Marquette earlier this month from a Higher Learning Commission team, a group of eight academicians and administrators. The team met with 500 members of the campus community, including three open forums for faculty, staff and students. Based upon its findings, the team will complete a recommendation; the HLC subsequently will render a decision known as the Statement of Affiliation Status, which is anticipated during the spring semester. October Reflection for Alumni
Autumn on the Marquette campus is often perceived as the time of most dramatic change. True to their name, the flaming red maple trees along Wisconsin Avenue indicate a change of season.
Last month Marquette lost Father John Naus, who was a campus fixture for almost 50 years. A friend wrote after his death, "Father Naus lived the vast majority of his life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He spent the past decade in a wheelchair ... but he touched people in such a way that he has been carried all over the world." May he smile down upon us as he rests in peace.
Marquette also had a change of leadership but true to our tradition we move forward knowing that God has great plans for us. We have great expectations for our students, faculty, staff and alumni to be successful. To be the difference.
We pray God continues to bless Marquette. Our learning. Our teaching. Our research. Our living.
