BMO Harris Bank Donates $600,000 to Marquette and Boys & Girls Clubs to bolster education and leadership programs
In an effort to provide underprivileged youths with access to educational opportunities, leadership training and mentoring, BMO Harris Bank has committed to a five-year, $600,000 partnership with Marquette University and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and Marquette University. This strategic partnership will provide the target population with greater access to higher education along with the necessary support to help students reach college graduation. Remember those who have passed throughout November
If you have a loved one whom you would like remembered throughout the month of November, submit your prayer request and it will be shared with the Marquette community. Prayer requests will be placed before the altars in the St. Joan of Arc Chapel and Chapel of the Holy Family and remembered in our communal prayer this month.
Women's soccer team advances NCAA second round; men's soccer earns first NCAA bid since 1997
The number four-seed Marquette women's soccer team has advanced to the second round of the 2012 NCAA tournament on Nov. 15 against Princeton in Provo, Utah. The team also won its first BIG EAST Championship title in program history.
The men's soccer squad will also compete in the NCAA tournament on Nov. 18, hosting a second round match. It's the team's first NCAA bid since 1997.
University mourns loss of Theatre Arts Professor Phylis Ravel
Phylis Ravel, artistic associate professor in the Department of Theatre Arts, passed away Nov. 6. She joined the Performing Arts faculty in 1997 and throughout her 15 years of leadership and inspired teaching, helped students explore creativity, talent and countless social justice issues. Marquette wins Gates Foundation grant for New York Times partnership
Marquette University received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support a new partnership between the university and the authors of The New York Times "Fixes" column, called FixesU, which combines Marquette's Social Innovation Initiative with the journalism prowess of authors David Bornstein and Tina Rosenberg.
