New issue of Marquette Magazine
The spring issue will arrive in your mailbox soon. Look for stories about the College of Engineering’s GasDay project, the university’s first International Restorative Justice Conference, and how a Marquette dental database could help identify crime suspects.

- Graduate programs earn national recognition
Several Marquette programs received high marks in the 2008 U.S. News & World
Report rankings. Read more
- Worth every penny
The April 2007 edition of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine lists
Marquette 38th among private universities that offer “the best values.” The ratings reflect
both quality and cost. Read more
- School of Education becomes a college
As a College of Education, it can admit students as freshmen and grant baccalaureate
degrees, specifically a bachelor of science in education.
- New Office of International Education
Terry Miller is the director of the newly created office, which will oversee Marquette’s study
abroad programs, international students and international partnerships. Read more
- $1 million gift to Marquette Law School
The Bradley Foundation is giving $1 million to help build a new facility for Marquette
University's Law School, the largest gift in the school's history.
The
Law School's new
building is slated to be
constructed on Tory Hill, overlooking the
Marquette Interchange.
The seven-figure grant
from the Bradley Foundation is meant to
kick-start a building
campaign that will officially
begin this summer.

is tremendously
important," said Michael
Grebe, president and CEO of the Bradley
Foundation, in a press
release.

Alison Brcak, Comm '99, married Kenneth Gafner on September 3, 2006,
in Lemont, Illinois. Several Marquette alumni were in attendance.

Grad '97, were blessed with a baby boy, Evan Fernandes, on January

Tim Simmons, Sp '82, was named chief Alumni Relations and Annual Giving officer and executive director of the Marquette University Alumni Association in January, replacing Meg Brzyski Husband, Arts '93, who will serve as one of the leads for Marquette's Regional Development team as chief Regional Development officer. Join the MU Peace House Foundation for "Hoops for Hope" on April 28
Saturday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m.
Rec Center, Marquette University Campus
The "Hoops for Hope" tournament is open to faculty, staff and alumni. Games will be
played for thirty minutes; 5-on-5 with a maximum of 10 players per team. Teams can
be men, women or coed, and prizes will be awarded to the winners of each bracket.
There will also be a drawing for prizes and guest appearances by former and current
MU basketball players.
$5 per person - registration is due Friday, April 20 at the Rec Center.
The Peace House Foundation is a student organization raising money to sponsor a service
trip to Arusha, Tanzania to work with AIDS orphans at the Peace House Academy, a school
dedicated to housing and educating over 600 AIDS orphans.
