Rebecca C. Anderson, Grad ’88

Rebecca Cogwell Anderson, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist and educator, credits Marquette University with providing her the education and training necessary to achieve personal and professional success. “Being a Marquette graduate is one of my most prized academic accomplishments,” she says.

Now, Rebecca provides education and training to others. She is currently a professor of psychology and director of psychological services in the division of transplant surgery and associate director of surgical education at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

For the past 15 years, Rebecca has been active in Marquette’s counseling psychology program as an adjunct faculty member, and on dissertation and doctoral qualifying examination committees. Many Marquette students have had the opportunity to participate in practicum and internships at the Medical College under her direction.

Rebecca’s professional career includes consulting for the U.S. FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She is also on the After Breast Cancer Diagnosis medical and community advisory board and is a member of the research agenda for the Breast Implant Public Health Project.

An international speaker and author of numerous studies, books and publications, Rebecca has addressed a wide range of issues including wellness programs, media coverage of silicone implants and adjustment issues following the diagnosis of breast cancer.

She is also the recipient of many awards, including the Outstanding Women in America Award.
