Warmly welcoming Dr. Michael R. Lovell to Marquette University

The Inauguration of President Michael R. Lovell will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, September 19, in the Al McGuire Center. The Inaugural Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 18, at Church of the Gesu. The Inauguration's theme — Ignited in faith. Alive in inquiry. Forward in service. — is inspired by the university's rich tradition of excellence, faith, leadership and service, as well as its commitment to extending knowledge beyond existing boundaries to pursue solutions for pressing problems and answers to life's deepest questions. To commemorate this historic Marquette event, a full week of Inauguration activities is planned. Please join us.

PRESIDENT

Dr. Michael R. Lovell is the 24th president of Marquette University. A distinguished scholar, researcher, educator and leader, President Lovell holds three academic degrees in mechanical engineering, including a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. As an educator, President Lovell has developed course work and fostered a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship for faculty, staff and students. He is known for establishing powerful partnerships among the academic, industrial and nonprofit sectors in Milwaukee, regionally and nationally.
